Blue Peter Hotel - Stranraer

The home-cooked meals surprised me, especially the steak and ale pie. Shower pressure in my room could have been better.

Location: the hotel was just next door to Yorkshire, the pub on the premises and beautiful surroundings. There were nice beds and central heating, coffee/tea making equipment and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels inside the room.

The location was marvellous in the middle of the city.

I enjoyed a delightful stay with cozy, immaculate rooms and delightful homemade meals that exceeded my expectations. the shower pressure could use improvement. I'd definitely return!

The owners are wonderfully engaging. The food was delicious, especially the home-cooked meals. I enjoyed the quirky lounge bar and the friendly vibe with locals. My room wassuper clean and cozy, perfect after exploring the area.

What you should know

The atmosphere is inviting,, with a fantastic bar area that encourages mingling with locals. The home-cooked meals, especially the chips, are good.

Some areas could benefit, as several guests found showers lacking in pressure and the bathroom size to be a bit cramped.

We loved the cozy atmosphere and the friendly locals. The dog-friendly setup was excellent, and the kids enjoyed the home-cooked meals. The English breakfast was delicious!

The single bed wasn't the most comfortable and had a noticeable squeak, a bit disruptive. I believe a bit more heating in the dining area could enhance the mealtime experience, especially on chilly days. Nevertheless, I'd definitely return due to the warm hospitality and good meals, hoping for improvements in the room's comfort.

Cozy and friendly vibes

The owners were super chill. Home-cooked meals were fab, especially the breakfast. Great spot. Our room was cute but could use an update. The bar area got busy at night, fun but a little loud.
